A Creek's Mystery

Montana's frigid temperatures Sunday evening into Monday morning caused crystals to form in this unique section of our creek that rarely freezes. It leaves me wondering if an underground hydrothermal feature causes this phenomenon. Meanwhile, a thin layer of clear ice allows prismatic colors to display themselves through a polarized lens filter. Such beauty to be found after the coldest of nights!
