Mars at opposition
On 01/17/2025 10:30 pm by David Hoskin | Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Weather has been poor for the past few weeks so I was delighted to see a clear sky last night with Mars, at opposition, lined up nicely with Castor and Pollux. The north polar ice cap is prominent in this image of the red planet.
Celestron C8 SCT, ES 2x focal reducer, ASI224MC camera with UV/IR cut filter, SkyWatcher EQ6R mount.
Best 500 frames of 10000 frames of SER video captured using SharpCap Pro were stacked with AutoStakkert. Registax was used to adjust wavelets, and Photoshop for additional post-processing.
