Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) - Easily visible to the naked eye
On 01/17/2025 06:15 pm by John Paul Pile | San Rafael, Bulacan, Philippines
Tonight, the comet was easily visible to the naked eye. I first spotted it at 6:12 p.m. (-6° Sun) and it remained visible until it disappeared behind the trees around 6:20 p.m. I could clearly see its slightly curved, yellowish tail stretching about 2°. This is the third comet I’ve seen with the naked eye in just 10 months, and I’m amazed by this one because, although small, it’s incredibly bright!
