The sky was 90% cloud-covered, with bands of cloud and thin overcast. The Moon appeared between bands for about five minutes at the crucial moment. I was also able to see it with the naked eye despite the Moon's brilliance. In the Pacific Northwest, witnessing ANY astronomical phenomenon is a rare thing. I consider myself very fortunate to have captured this event. By the time re-emergence occurred, the clouds had closed in.
