Snowflake in Metallic Look

This snowflake is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen - but at the same time also one of the strangest things I have ever seen: A Snowflake in an almost alien-like Metallic look! We experienced a dramatic temperature drop last night, with temps falling almost 40 degrees Fahrenheit to about 5 degrees in a matter of hours. Perfect conditions for great snowflakes! I have been photographing snowflakes for a few years by now and have seen quite a few unusual shapes. But this snowflake - less than half a centimeter across ]- is one of most special formations so far. The Art of Nature.
