A study in feathers, sun and stoicism
On 12/28/2024 11:30 am by Randy Strauss | Walnut Creek Lake, Nebraska
With the lake water just above freezing, the geese would rise up, stretch, shake the water from their wings and dry them in the warming rays of the sun. They'd do this three or four times in quick succession and would then settle back into the water. I too noticed a dramatic difference in temperature as I moved my tripod mounted camera out of the shadows and into direct sunshine.
