Winter Solstice Approaches

Clouds obscured our Winter Solstice sun. But the morning before, the sun made a brilliant appearance! About an hour and a half post-sunrise, a 4-foot north-oriented boulder in our astronomically aligned stone circle glowed with solar gold as snow diamonds sparkled all around. The stone's shadow pointed southwest, a reminder of the solstice sun's southeast position at sunrise.
