A hot spot on a cold day

I visited Walnut Creek Lake (just south of Papillion, Nebraska) around noon to see if migrating geese and ducks would enjoy a rest and some open water before a cold front would arrive a few hours later. They were, in the dozens, perhaps in the hundreds. Many more were outside the frame of this photo, and more were landing as I took this shot.
