Crescent Moonset timelapse!

On 12/04/2024 07:35 pm by Adeel Shafiq | Website | Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan

It was one of the clearest sunny days of Lahore today and as the night set in the moon and Venus put up a mesmerizing conjunction. I couldn't get any decent frames of the moon tonight with my telescope due to extreme atmospheric turbulence even at 4 degrees (which itself is difficult to be seen from our hazy skies) so decided to capture a series of images to create this time lapse and once again it is very rare for us to witness the crescent at such low altitude over the horizon.
This image was created by combining 60 images together starting when the crescent was at 2 degrees from the horizon and disappeared at half a degree.
Hoping that we get to see such marvels of our solar system frequently with clear and clean skies.

60 images of ISO 800, 0.4 seconds exposure each combined in PS for final image.
