Early lightning bolt directly overhead at 7.41 pm turns night into day.

In the late evening on Thursday 28th November, an unexpected heavy thunderstorm accompanied by vivid sheet lightning overhead, sharp crackles of thunder and torrential downpours of rain suddenly developed over Mutare and environs. 48 mm of rainfall was recorded on Murambi heights with more landing in low lying areas. This was the first storm of the current rainy season In Mutare to be accompanied by a significant amount of rain. Hopefully this trend will continue but the forecast for the next few days is for a return to hot, dry, sunny conditions.
