Anolis lizard in Puerto Rico

This is an Anolis lizard, a genus which is found everywhere in Puerto Rico from coastal plains to mountainous regions. This particular specimen was found in a coastal area under a semi-arid climate. About 10 different species of Anolis are found in the island, all of them endemic. Recent studies have found the Anolis genus of lizards to be a highly adaptable lifeform capable of responding rapidly to environmental change.
