At low tide I was happy to see a pair of bald eagles land on the rugged ocean shore. They were looking westward in the image. The low tide revealed beds of mussels.
Bald eagles pair up with each other at 4 or 5 years old. They mate for life, but if one of them dies they find another mate. They may also separate due to repeated breeding failures.
