Ship on Fire.

I was standing on the ocean beach pier about 40’ above sea level hoping to get a photo of the green flash on this incredibly clear sunset. I saw the ship to the north heading south towards the entrance to the San Diego bay. As the sun was setting the ship was getting closer I thought “ no way is the ship going to intercept the sun” but it did and made for a beautiful image. The exhaust plume looked like fire being backlit by the sun. Right place right time.
