A Fiery First Quarter Moon from Smoggy skies of Lahore!

On 11/09/2024 06:50 pm by Adeel Shafiq | Website | Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan

Lahore city with most parts of Punjab had been hit by the worst of the smog this season resulting in hazardous air quality and making the sky disappear for almost 10 days now. Even the sun has not been seen with its glare and it disappears at about 10 degrees into the thick layer of haze and smog. My streak of capturing the new crescent moon was broken due to this bad weather after almost 34 months. I wanted to capture tonight's moon just to showcase how the moon appears in our smog filled skies to us and honestly it's quite depressing and heart wrenching for us sky lovers.
Here is tonight's first quarter moon from the skies of Lahore.
I hope and wish that rain comes soon and washes away the dust and smoke from our atmosphere.
