A painted lady's fall colors
On 11/07/2024 11:29 am by Randy Strauss | Suburb of Omaha, Nebraska
Two painted ladies were sampling purple salvia and sunning themselves on a mulch bed in my backyard this morning. Spring migrants from down south, they remain in this part of Nebraska until mid-November-ish, then head back south. I'm always impressed they stay here this far into the fall, considering our morning temps are right around freezing now, and one morning it was a brisk 28F (-2.22C).
