This is an image taken 26th October, processed using a different technique. It shows a nice arc of sunspots which is the source of the latest two X flares to emanate from the Sun, following a lull in solar activity.
Skywatcher 8” Newtonian, Seymour Solar 9.5” white light solar filter, Nikon D3200.
Original colour image processed in imPPG for sharpening, then used GIMP to re-colour and combine with the blue background ( I used the ellipse tool in GIMP to draw around the solar disk to separate it out, which worked quite well).
