powerful sun

the sun looks quite steady while here in Earth the Kp index soars close to 9 and auroras are reported everywhere. The three main sunspots of the sun face are seen clearly with protected eye alone. It is interesting how in a period as short as 1 week the solar disc presents a minor (0,2%) but undeniable increase in size, more clearly seen when you "blink" back and forth between images, such as Clyde Tombaugh did in 1930 (aiming at planetary findings, not solar)
