Meet Cute: Luna and the Comet

I spent four days in a row trying to find the comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan ATLAS). I was frustrated by the last day and about to give up, when I realized that there was a faint spot on several of the exposures around where the comet was supposed to be. I found as set of images I snapped on the tripod (I usually do sets of 5) and combined them to boost the signal. Using this "stacking" technique, I was able to bring out the soft details and highlight both the delicate new moon and the comet. This is a view from the Yaquina Bay Bridge looking East over the history Bayfront in Newport, Oregon.
