I was fortunate enough to happen to see this rare to our area Western Cattle Egret. The Western Cattle Egret spends most of its time in fields and forages at the feet of grazing cattle hence the name. There are no cattle anywhere near where this Egret was spotted which was on the shore of a marsh.
