The Blue Ant

I encountered this beautiful ant during a hike in the Wet Mountains of Colorado, which is actually where I live. Shimmering iridescent in a stunning, metallic blue, the ant was exploring the orange-yellow flower petals of a Gloriosa Daisy, which was definitely a bit past its prime, growing at an old, relatively remote homestead at about 9,000 feet. The color combination of the intense blue ant against the orange and yellow, simply stopped me dead in my hiking trek… Enjoy!!
