Super Full Moon (Harvest Moon) from Lahore!
On 09/18/2024 07:00 pm by Adeel Shafiq| Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan
The moon has been in full phase (100% illuminated) since 07:36 AM this morning Pakistan standard time and it was partially eclipsed by the Earth's shadow (umbra) in some parts of the world including Africa, Europe and Americas. For us the moon set early in the morning around 5:30 AM today and even the eclipse would have been penumbral only.
I was able to capture the moonrise from the eastern horizon of Lahore and created a timelapse showing its ascent towards zenith. The weather in Lahore tonight was very clear allowing maximum brightness to reach the surface and it also illuminated a few high clouds with colors of iridescence.
