NGC 7380 - The Wizard Nebula
The Wizard Nebula, designated as NGC 7380, is a stunning star-forming region located about 8500 light-years away in the constellation Cepheus. Spanning approximately 100 light-years across, this emission nebula gets its name from its intricate, magical shape that resembles a sorcerer. It is illuminated by a cluster of young, hot stars at its core, whose powerful radiation energizes the surrounding gas and dust, causing it to glow. The nebula is an active site of stellar birth, with new stars forming from the dense clouds of gas.
