The Elephant Proboscis Nebula

The Elephant Proboscis Nebula is a dark nebula located near IC 1396, a very large open cluster to which a large diffuse nebula is associated. It is located about 3000 light-years from us, visible in the constellation of Cepheus2. The nebula is rich in chemical elements, including hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur. The "trunk" extends for 30 light-years, while the nebula for over a hundred light-years.
