A Perseid fireball graces an interplanetary conjunction!

I had the privilege to visit dark skies for last night's peak of this year's Perseids meteor shower the morning of 13th August. The weather had been very tricky and forecast was unreliable but I took the risk as any astronomy enthusiast would never miss the chance to witness the most colorful meteor shower of the season.
I was framing and shooting for the conjunction of planets Jupiter and Mars in the constellation of Taurus and was hoping that a meteor gets captured in my frame. Luckily a blazing green fireball entered the atmosphere leaving behind a dust trail.
Meteors are sometimes observed with red, yellow or green trails. The green color as you see here is caused by the ionization of oxygen molecules. Last night's meteor shower was one of the best I have seen in quite a long time as I witnessed almost a hundred meteors in 6 hours with almost half of them being fireballs.
