The two American gold finches ( Spinus tristis) in their bright yellow breeding plumage with orange beaks are eating seeds of black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia). According to Wikipedia, the gold finches are strong vegetarians and feed their chicks also with seeds. The breeding season of the gold finches starts at the end of July, and they have only one brood a year.
