A very warm night to enjoy the Milky Way
On 08/02/2024 10:30 pm by Randy Strauss| State park in eastern Nebraska
A very warm night (it was 81F when I took these frames at 10:30pm -11pm) following a very warm day (95F) revealed what appear to be oxygen, nitrogen and hydroxyl molecules in the lower part of the photo. It was also a rare night of minimal wild fire smoke and above average transparency and seeing.
Canon 6D Mk II, Tamron 28-75mm lens (at 28mm). Sixty-two frames, each 20 seconds, f/2.8, ISO 6400.
Image Composite Editor to align images and partially correct out of round stars, then GIMP.
