The Moon Occults the Pleiades
On 07/30/2024 03:54 am by Meiying Lee | Website | Taipei, Taiwan
In the early morning of July 30, Taipei was very lucky to see the moon occulting the Pleiades. First, Merope entered the bright part of the moon and was occultated at 4:23 in the morning. Next, the Pleiades and the moon slowly approached, and at 5:08 AM, Alcyone also entered the bright part of the moon and was occultated. Unfortunately, it was already bright at this time, and we could no longer observe the phenomenon of them leaving the dark part of the moon. Great video of Alcyone being occultated by the moon: https://youtube.com/shorts/-SQhVq01pgw?feature=share
