Tropical Screech Owl

This owl had been hit by a vehicle and when I saw it, it was near the end of rehabilitation. It was found by a local who at one time had been a veterinarian and he took the bird home and spent weeks with rehabilitation. He tried to release the bird the night I saw it but it was not healed enough to fly. He continued rehab for a couple more weeks and successfully released the bird to the wild.
