Full Venus Setting Behind Tree

On 07/15/2024 06:01 pm by Peter Lowenstein| Mutare, Zimbabwe

On 15th July, good views were obtained of a Full Venus setting behind a tree in fading volcanic sunset glow three-quarters-of-an-hour after sundown. A Full Venus is rare to see because it only appears full when behind (on the far side of) the Sun. In the accompanying montage, prepared from frames selected from a spectacular time-lapse animation, glimpses of the full round Venus can be seen as it sets behind a tree on a hill to the WNW of Murambi in Mutare. The aforementioned time-lapse animation will be posted as a Disqus comment.
