Watch the full video and keep a close eye on the area just above the sun's disk throughout to catch the Green Flash, with the climax near the end.
The Green Flash effect is caused by the thick layer of Earth's atmosphere acting like a prism, which separates or refracts (bends) the light from the Sun into different colours.
The Green Flash is not an optical illusion or a flash but an actual colour of the Sun's disk. At the top rim of the sun disk, there is always a green rim present at every sunset, but it is usually too thin to be seen with the naked eye. To see the Green Flashes with the naked eye requires a mirage effect as it increases the refraction and magnifies it.
I found the perfect conditions and witnessed visually from Rivington, UK, on the 7th of July 2024.
