A 1% crescent moon sets through twilight haze beyond the large telescopes (left horizon) at Kitt Peak National Observatory (43 miles from the camera) just after sunset on Saturday, July 7, 2024. Mercury will join a 3% crescent moon after sunset on Sunday.
