Today (July 5) the apparent diameter of the sun is the smallest in the whole year, about 0.524 degrees. This year, the sun's maximum apparent diameter occurred on January 4, at about 0.542 degrees. This is a comparison chart between the largest sun and the smallest sun this year. The smallest sun is about 3.3% smaller than the largest sun. There has also been a period of sunspot explosions recently, and there are many sunspots on the sun in both photos. Therefore, this comparison chart of the size of the Sun can be said to be unique to 2024!
