RF-8 Crusader Wreckage At Mauna Kea

On December 15th, 1974, a NAVY Recon Fighter F-8 Crusader took off from the USS Coral Sea Carrier and crashed into the northeast face of Mauna Kea at the 11,300 feet elevation. It's been 50 years since, and the debris field is very visible. Some of the parts look new and shiny! The impact made a crater, with the largest piev=ce being the tail and the afterburner which is still attached to it. Everything else was obliterated. I hope the pilot felt no pain upon impact. RIP.
