Two Bridges, One Shot

I set a goal of photographing the Milky Way next to the major landmarks near me, such as the lighthouse and the bridge. I was worried that the light from the bridge and surrounding businesses would make it impossible to grab any Milky Way definition, but I decided to try anyway. The Yaquina Bay State Park is very dark at night and made a good location to set up. After a 30-second test exposure it was clear to me the Milky Way was out in force, so I took several 10, 15, and 20 second shots. It worked. This is the foreground from an 8 second exposure combined with the background blended from 5 15-second exposures (no tracking, just a tripod) at ISO 320.
