Earlier today I took a walk along the old 1871 Trail. It is part of the 125 mile long network of ancient trails called the Ala Kahakai or King's Trail. The walk started from the Puuhonua o Hanaunau National Historic Park to Ho'okena Village. The trail was well maintained, although pretty exposed to the elements.
