Full house

While scanning the lake shore with binoculars I was amazed to come across two dead trees serving as rookeries for Great Blue Herons--dozens of herons in each tree. The image doesn't begin to show them all--this is just a portion of one of the trees. A challenge to photograph in hazy conditions with the lens facing into the sun, at extreme range for my camera and lens combination.

Canon SL-2 DSLR, modified Meade ETX90 Optical Tube Assembly (1250mm, F/13.8), home-made lens hood, tripod, remote shutter release.
