Tropical summer sunset

This image was taken just one minute after sunset, with the sun about half-a-degree below the western horizon. This colorful display was produced by multiple layers of clouds, among which there were some scattered high clouds that tend to appear more frequently around the tropical summer. In this context, the 'tropical summer' spans a season of about six months that includes late spring and early fall.
