The air was really clear over Lake Michigan and it's not humid yet so the conditions were perfect. I took some photos of the sailboats on the water and after zooming into this image in Lightroom I was surprised to see what looks like a smoke stack! Unless this is a mirage of some sort, there is a Nipsco Power generating plant in Michigan City, Indiana. I'm 12 floors up and just two stone throws from Lake Michigan in the far north side of Chicago. Google maps puts this at almost 43 miles.
