Bald Eagle Family Cooling Off

A Bald Eagle with her very large eaglets. With the higher than normal temps that we had on this day, they all had their mouths open. Just like a dog, they often handle higher temperatures by panting (an open mouth with increased respiration). Interestingly, there is a hole in the tongue connected to the respiratory system.
