Double Trouble

I was on driving back from our little town Westcliffe to our rural home in Colorado, about 16 miles away. I could see big thunderstorm pretty much everywhere around me and I was hoping to make it home before the celestial flood gates opened and the dirt roads would turn into a mud fest in mere seconds. At one point I saw out of the corner of my left eye a big lightning bolt zigzagging across the vast meadow next to me. But I also noticed two horses a bit further up. One horse was grazing calmly, while other horse seemed to be agitated, most likely by the big lightning bolt and loud thunder. When I came parallel to them, I realized that there were actually TWO very nasty looking storms moving towards the horses - one for each of them. Crazy! I knew I simply had to get a photo of this "Double Trouble", pulled quickly over and framed the shot, so that each horse had one monster storm rolling in from behind, while the two storms were releasing almost nonstop lightning bolts by now. Very dramatic, and downright threatening, for sure. I was glad, when I eventually sat down again in the safety of my car! But at the same time I felt truly sorry for the horses, who would have to stand on that meadow, facing their individual storm...
