Aurora Over Western Washington

A rare Northern LIghts display as a result of the G4 Solar Storm manifested over Puget Sound Friday night 10 May, 2024. The show went on for several hours. This image was taken a little after 11pm. It's an 8 second exposure at ISO 3200. Giving this image some perspective, the mountain on the horizon is the 14,411 foot volcano, Mt. Rainier.

Lightroom adjustments in clarity and contrast to remove mid-band light. Exposure adjustments to help illuminate the landscape. Denoised in Topaz.
