Meteor and Aurora - May 11, 2024

It is one of several images on which my camera captured a meteor during a time lapse sequence. This one was my favorite. This was my first time to see the northern lights, and am still in awe of the event. Thanks to you folks at EarthSkyNews and Space Weather.com for the heads up!!! Sadly, many people didn't know what was happening until it was too late.

Nikon D850 with Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 lens, set at f/3.2 for 13 sec., ISO 1600. Berlebach tripod and Arca Swiss ballhead. Frame #142 of a 200 frame time lapse sequence.

Cropped approximately 68%, and minor adjustments to exposure and shadows in camera raw.
