Swallow passing Jupiter setting close to Sunset.
Since the beginning of May Jupiter has been tracked setting behind some trees on a ridge to the WNW of Mutare 3 minutes earlier each day between 5.55 and 5.24 pm. Due to bright after sunset glare the planet has not been visible to the naked eye but by pointing a camera at right time and in the right direction towards the anticipated setting point it has been possible to capture faint still images or video frames of the barely visible planet disappearing a little bit further to the north behind the same group of trees each evening. On Wednesday 8th May by sheer serendipity a swallow happened to pass in front of the very faint plant and was captured on four consecutive video frames taken at 5.33 pm which have been brightness and contrast enhanced to produce the accompanying montage.
