Jupiter Setting in Volcanic Sunset.
On Saturday 20th April, the bright planet Jupiter, which has for several months dominated the late evening sky to the WNW of Mutare, was observed appearing and then setting in one of the many volcanic sunset twilight arches that are still developing and fading after the Sun has disappeared below the horizon. Jupiter is now closer to the horizon and nearer to the Sun after sunset so is harder to see above the displays but on this occasion it was with patience tracked from when it first became visible in the brightly colored twilight arch just before 6 pm until it set below the horizon in the last glow half an hour later.

Compilation on nine-image montage from series of 26 images taken between 6.22 and 6.30 pm combined with distant view taken at 6.28 pm previous day.
