A solitary female goldeneye swimming on the pond by the harbor. A medium sized diving duck named for its golden-yellow eyes, it has mottled gray feathers and in flight large white areas are exposed. The head is chocolate brown, the thick dark bill has an orange-yellow tip, the legs and feet as well. I love his subtle expression on this image.
