It was a very windy night/morning. Winds were at 25 mph with gusts of 54 mph. I almost did not make it out of my hotel room to photograph the sunrise. Glad I did...the beautiful rainbow was a bonus. It went on and on for a long time and I was able to capture it with my 24 mm lens. Wish I had taken my wider lens, but I had not anticipated the rainbow. The plants you see are Ocotillos. "Fouquieria splendens is a plant indigenous to the Mojave Desert, Sonoran Desert, Chihuahuan Desert and Colorado Desert in the Southwestern United States, and northern Mexico. While semi-succulent and a desert plant, Ocotillo is more closely related to the tea plant and blueberries than to cactuses." The mountains surrounding the desert floor are beautiful. The clouds lit up by the rising sun, added to the drama in the sky making for a beautiful image.
