Yesterday afternoon I admired the Moon rising above Monteverde Irpino, one of the most beautiful Borghi in Italy.
I filmed the scene from Aquilonia at a distance of over 4 km as the crow flies, so that I had a large part of the borgo and the huge Moon above it in the same frame.
From my vantage point, the eastern horizon was totally clear so that those very low grey clouds from which the Moon emerged were about 0° above the horizon.
It was beautiful to see it rise in the same field with the imposing Grimaldi Castle and to witness the related effects due to the thick layer of atmosphere, such as the shaking of the shape and the long series of lunar flaps that jagged, 'cut out' and coloured green, as you can see on my blog.
Perspective alignments like these are so full of beauty that they deserve to be simply admired. Yesterday I travelled hundreds of kilometres to do so, and seeing the results it was definitely worth it.
Single shot.
