Before dawn Orion shines in the southwestern sky. A Leonid meteor dashed by to the left of Betelgeuse.
The Leonids appear to be coming from the constellation Leo The Lion (hence the name) in the east, but they are visible all the way across the sky. The Leonid meteor shower is at it's peak on the night of Nov 17-18. Predawn Nov 17 when I took this photo, is a good time to see the Leonids too.
When you see one don't forget to make a wish!
