Jupiter near midnight on 30 October. 370.2 million miles away and just a couple of days from opposition. The Great Red Spot front and almost center. The two Galilean moons are Ganymede (above) and Europa (below).

12"Meade LX850 OTA with dewshield. A 4x Powermate. LRGB filterwheel, Skyris236M video camera, 17.3" HP laptop with Firecapture software.

Three 4000 frame video segments, one each through the red, green and blue filters captured in Firecapture. Each video file was cropped and centered in PIPP then analyzed, aligned and stacked in Autostakkert3 resulting in a .png file which was then sent to Registax6 for wavelets processing resulting in 3 .jpg images (R,G,B) which were then sent to Photoshop for integration into a full color (RGB) image. File size increase, further sharpening and noise reduction accomplished in Topaz gigapixel. Final light and contrast adjustments including bringing up the specific light levels to illuminate the moons in Lightroom.
