Lunar Cycle- Sep-Oct 2023
This image comprises all the 8 lunar phases:-
That image depicts the Lunar cycle of the month September-October 2023.
Lunar cycle consists of approximately 29 days as viewed from Earth. One lunar cycle consist of 8 main Moon phases:-
1. New Moon (Amavasya)
2. Waxing crescent
3. First quarter
4. Waxing Gibbous
5. Full moon (Purnima)
6. Waning Gibbous
7. Last quarter
8. Waning Crescent
When moon continues to increase its size after New Moon day, these increasing phases are known as Waxing phases and after Full Moon, when Moon continues to decrease its size, these phases are known as Waning phases. Similarly, the increasing thin lunar phases are known as waxing crescent moon. After First quarter, or Half Moon, these increasing phases is known as Waxing Gibbous. Likewise, when moon starts decreasing its phase after full moon, then these phases are known as Waning Gibbous. After Last quarter, Or decreasing half-moon, these phases are known Waning Crescent moon.

So I have clicked all the image for 26 consecutive days, i.e., Day 2-26 in a single lunar cycle. After 26 days of shooting Moon continuously, generating 2 TB Data, I stacked an average of 5000 frames/images to bring out the details of each phase, which means in total 1,30,000 frames stacked to get this respective result. It took almost 120 hrs to process/perform this task with my laptop. Around 75 layers were composed in photoshop for Full Lunar cycle. This one is special as it was shot in a single lunar cycle from Day 2 to Day 26 (comprises all 8 phases of Moon in one go).

Softwares used: PIPP, Autostackkert, Registax, Photoshop and Lightroom
Camera used: Nikon Coolpix P1000, Nikon D5300
P.S.: No telescope was used
Date: 17 Sep to 12 oct 2023

Although this is my second attempt for a lunar cycle (previous one, I completed in 3 months- Titled: Loop of Infinity, I have attached that image as well) but this one is special as it was shot in a single lunar cycle from Day 2 to Day 26 (comprises all 8 phases of Moon in one go).
